Evaluating recovery strategies for the disruptions in liner shipping networks: a resilience approach

Purpose Since the start of current century, world at large has experienced uncertainties as a result climate change, terrorism threats and increasing economic upheaval. These create non-classical risks for global seaborne container trade liner shipping networks (LSNs). The purpose this paper is to establish novel risk-based resilience framework measure effectiveness different recovery strategies disruptions in LSNs quantitative manner. Design/methodology/approach Based on loss triangle model, an indicator resilience–cost ratio designed performance during recovery. Four are proposed test rationality feasibility developed aiding decision-making from perspective. Findings analysis results reveal that superiorities vary depending both structures specific requirements Moreover, optimizing sequence ports being recovered will improve overall efficiency investigated LSN.
